Make Your Horse Show A MSBC Member
Man Sask Border Circuit is working to recruit additional member horse shows. The following is a brief overview of MSBC, and it is our hope that you will consider becoming a member of MSBC!
The MSBC was conceived 25 years ago by several Agricultural Societies and Horse Shows in the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border area.
It's two main purposes are to promote more entries at each of the member's shows, and give an added appreciation to the exhibitors for their time, effort, and money in hauling down the road to the shows. It is FREE to exhibitors!
MSBC offers awards for the following 10 classes: (see also class descriptions)
-Champion Halter Horse
-Champion Halter Pony
-Showmanship 10 & under
-Showmanship 11-14 years
-Showmanship 15-18 years
-Western Pleasure Pony
-Western Pleasure Horse
-Junior Horse 2-4 year old (ridden in snaffle or bosal only)
-English Pleasure Horse
-Champion Barrel Horse
MSBC awards prizes at year end banquet in the fall, placing from 1st to 5th in each of the 10 classes. 1st place award is a horse blanket with the MSBC logo and award class embroidered on the side. 2nd-5th prizes vary each year depending on funds available. Examples of prizes have been: bridle bags, halters, hay bags, chairs, grooming totes, pails, etc.
The membership requirements for MSBC are:
1. Non-conflicting dates with other members (on 2013 shows page)
2. Membership fee- $125
3. Offer all of the above classes, if possible
4. Secretary duties- send show results to the MSBC secretary
5. Attend fall Annual General Meeting and Awards if possible
Current MSBC members feel that this concept has increased attendance at their events and is a great way to reward the exhibitors who attend their shows each year.
As MSBC memberships increase, more classes can be added. Potential classes could be reining, trail, horsemanship, etc.
